One Tuesday night, exhausted after a 12-hour day, I stood in my own kitchen and felt a sudden, sharp disconnect.
I reached for my cutting board — a scarred, grey piece of stained plastic. It was ugly. It was soulless.
We surround ourselves with utility, but we are starving for beauty and comfort. My "real life" had become a collection of functional compromises.

Beauty should not be a luxury we only enjoy once a year.
I refused to accept that beauty should be a luxury we only enjoy once a year.
I went searching for a change, but found only two extremes: Tools for Use (ugly, hidden in drawers) or Display-Only Objects (fragile, reserved for special occasions).
I wanted to design objects for everyday use, but with the presence of art. Beauty you could actually touch, use, and still enjoy every time you saw it on your counter.
The Balance Found

It took two years of obsession to find the balance.
I sought materials that felt ancient and performed beautifully in modern kitchens.
I found it in the ancient weight of Sapele and the naturally hygienic surface of tempered glass. I found the form in my vinyl records — because some shapes are timeless for a reason.
I named it Alorivo. (Alo — the halo of light. Rivo — the flow of a river.)

Where Art Meets Precision
Every ALORIVO product begins with a question: what if the most-used items in your home were also the most beautiful? The answer lives in every material we choose and every process we follow.
Sapele with Character
Our outer board is crafted from Sapele (Entandrophragma cylindricum) — a hardwood native to the tropical forests of West and Central Africa, prized by woodworkers and furniture makers for centuries.
What makes Sapele exceptional is not just what it does — it's how it looks. Its interlocked grain creates a natural ribbon figure: a shifting, luminous depth that changes in different light. No two boards are identical. Every surface is a one-of-a-kind pattern.

- — Independently lab-tested: >99.99% antibacterial (E. coli & S. aureus)
- — Interlocked grain naturally minimizes knife marks over time

German Precision
Moisture content is controlled at 8–12% using German kiln-drying technology — the exact range that prevents cracking in dry climates and mold in humid ones.

Glass That Earns Its Place
The inner "label" is 5mm tempered glass — 3–5× stronger than standard glass, thermally treated for impact resistance.

Fruit juices, berry pigments, garlic oils — nothing absorbs, nothing stains. And yes: dishwasher safe.
The vinyl record shape is not decoration. The outer groove guides your knife naturally. The flat center provides a pristine prep surface. Both boards form a dual-zone system that eliminates cross-contamination.
